Winslow Homer…Well, Almost

This morning, Labor Day, at Beaver Pond was misty and lovely.

One of my favorite painters is Winslow Homer. His series of paintings done in the Adirondacks renders me speechless and for those who know me that is saying something.

This morning, I tried to capture his magical world right here in Franklin.

This is as close as I could come but this is all you need to know: I’m still talking.

Singular Sensation

This is the one and sadly only bloom from this dahila plant. Hydrangea and Shasta daisies grew much taller so the plant is no longer getting the much needed sun to create more blooms. I should have planted more wisely as this height is not a surprise in early August. I would be hopeless in the landscape architecture field.

Gobsmacked

I am simply totally gobsmacked by the inner world of flowers and gardens. You need an eye, yes. But, to see this world you need “glass”, too. Photospeak for good lenses.

If you love this inner world, you’ll never be sorry you spent the money to get the right lenses, recession or no recession, good glass is a requirement.
